Here at Long-Term Teachers, we are working closely with an amazing 2 form entry Primary School in the BS4 area of Bristol. This warming school is seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant who has a great understanding or experience of working with SEND children - Specifically ASD. This diverse and inclusive school has a wonderful resource based classroom, which is growing and needs supportive and nurturing staff to join their team.

The Role

As a successful candidate, you will join the team as soon as possible. You will be working closely with a team of caring and gentle staff, who work tirelessly to support children with ASD to build their confidence in communication, social aspects, education and personal development. The Head Teacher is looking for a friendly, positive person with a great attitude towards these children, providing an enthusiastic but challenging classroom environment.

You will be expected to:

  • Have experience working with SEN / ASD children.
  • Enjoy challenging children to be the best they can be.
  • Have great communication skills between all staff members.
  • Inspire and motivate the children.
  • Use your initiative to adapt activities to meet the needs of each child.
  • Work closely with the School SENDCO to support each child's needs.
