I am excited to be working with a Primary School in the Weston-Super-Mare area who are seeking a Learning Partner to work with pupils in a learning hub for children with additional needs. This is a 3 form entry Primary School which has a very calming, nurturing and community feeling, where staff, pupils and parents support one another. This is a very diverse school where the curriculum is very open for Teachers to develop activities to meet each child's learning preferences.
The Role: This school is looking for a Learning Partner to work in one of their Nurture Hubs for children with learning needs. This room has 7 children from age 5 to 9 with another 3 Learning Partners in the room. You will be supporting within the Hub in the mornings and then working 1 to 1 with a pupil in the afternoon, transitioning them into their year group classroom. You will be expected to:
- Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher and communicate clearly.
- Be flexible and encouraging when working with this pupil.
- Be adaptable with the child's learning environment.
- Communicate and observe personal and learning development.
- Support children in a group setting, using objects to support and encourage learning.
