Permanent position working throughout the year including school holidays with 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Are you an experienced SEN Practitioner ready to take the next step in your career? Do you have experience leading SEN support staff or management experience? I am excited to be recruiting for an SEN Team Leader to join a special school and coordinate their respite centre. The working pattern will be Monday - Wednesday 10am - 6pm, Thursday 10:30am - 6:15pm & Sunday 9:30 - 4:30pm.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and managing the Short Breaks program to ensure safe, compliant, and enriching care experiences for children and young people with SEND.
  • Acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, overseeing both safeguarding and administrative staff.
  • Developing and implementing a Strategic Development Plan for the Short Breaks service, including budget management and staff performance.
  • Planning and delivering activities that promote equality and meet all regulatory standards.
  • Managing the recruitment, training, and performance of staff to ensure high-quality care and service delivery.
  • Ensuring compliance with Ofsted registration and other relevant regulations.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with families, schools, and external agencies.

About You

  • Be able to do the job as described.
  • Have experience managing services for children and young people with SEND, with at least a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Childcare, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills in a care or educational setting.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ideally be Team Teach trained, although training can be provided.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license, with the willingness to travel between sites around Swindon and drive a minibus as needed.
