I'm working on behalf of a special secondary school in Swindon that are looking for a teacher to join the school in leading English classes. The school look after SEMH students as well as a variety of different special needs, aged 11 - 16. The school are a challenging environment to work in due to the needs of the students but it is also incredibly rewarding - which is why the school boast a high retention rate of staff. They're a very tight knit bunch who are always supportive of new joiners.

The role is leading English classes up to GCSE level, so experience teaching English is essential as you will be expected to plan and mark your own lessons (ably supported by head of department). The school are open though to applications from unqualified teachers if you have the necessary experience. Due to the needs of the students you must be confident in dealing with challenging behaviour, possess a lot of resilience and have a naturally calming demeanour. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to make a real impact at this school.
