A Primary School in Central Bristol is currently seeking a Qualified Teacher to work within their inclusion room on a Full-Time basis. You will be planning and delivering lessons and activities to a group of KS2 children with a range of Special Needs including Autism, Speech and Language and SEMH needs. At this three form entry school, their highly experienced teachers and staff are committed to providing a nurturing environment so that all of their children succeed. As part of a large School Trust, they are able to offer an inspiring curriculum, where they expect their children to think differently.

The Role

Understanding the needs of each child is key for this role, using prior knowledge of the Primary and EYFS curriculum to adapt and differentiate activities to meet their needs and ensure they are able to engage and meet their goals. The Head Teacher is ideally looking for a Qualified Teacher who has prior experience working in an SEN school or who has had a classroom with high SEN within it. Someone who has a real understanding of differentiation, EHCPs and how to collaborate with a team of LSAs to deliver group activities but also individual work too.

You will be expected to:

  • Assess children’s engagement and their personal development
  • Set new goals for the children
  • Set boundaries, be caring but have fun with it
  • Bring prior experience to the table and work collaboratively with the other Class Teacher
