This Primary School in the SN15 Chippenham area , who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and support a child with additional needs. Your focus will be on helping them access the curriculum, engage in meaningful activities both indoors and outdoors, and thrive socially and academically.

This is a full-time position, continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for extension in the new school year.

  • Confidence in following the teacher’s lesson plan and ensuring tasks are completed successfully.
  • Comfortable preparing the child for transitions and changes in routine .
  • Committed to helping the child feel safe, supported, and included in the classroom environment.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Supporting the teacher in delivering inclusive activities both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Creating a calm and comfortable learning space for the child.
  • Encouraging the child’s social and emotional development .
  • Using clear, concise, and literal communication .
  • Providing a predictable routine to help reduce anxiety.
  • Proactively preparing the child for any changes in the school day.
