I\’m working on behalf of a brilliant special school in Somerset that are looking for SEND Learning Support Assistants to join the team from September on ideally a full-time basis (thought they can be flexible on this). The school look after a wide range of special needs & disabilities that includes SLD, MLD, ASD, Complex Needs & SEMH .

The school have operated successfully in the area for years and are well respected by families and the local community. Having placed a number of staff in the school over the years, I can confidently comment on how supportive the team there of new staff.

The roles

The school have a few different gaps across the school which will be a range of different age groups and needs . So whatever you best specialise in – the school should be able to accommodate you! The school are open to a range of applications so if you\’re a special needs support worker looking for an introduction to school work – this could be the perfect opportunity!

In terms of experience you either need to have worked in a school setting before or have good experience working with special needs & disabilities in professional setting. The school need people who are reliable, adaptable, enthusiastic, calm and confident in dealing with challenging behaviour.
