Here at Long-Term Teachers, I am currently working closely with a 2 form entry Primary School in the BS22 area of Weston-Super-Mare. They are currently seeking Teaching Assistants to support SEND children joining their reception class in September.
You will be joining a team of staff who encourage kindness and a community feel throughout the school where children feel valued, safe and secure. The school provides the students with a stimulating curriculum within a nurturing environment.
The Role
The Head Teacher is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with exceptional experience working with SEND. You will be expected to work closely with SEN pupils within the school on a 1 to 1 basis, supporting their educational and social development.
There are a few needs within the classroom, Speech and Language, ASD and ADHD.
You will need to provide structure, engaging activities and adapted support to continue making a positive impact on the pupils' achievements through a personalised approach.
You will be expected to:
- Great communication with the Class Teacher.
- Have high expectations for the pupil.
- Have previous experience as a TA or working with SEND children.
- Be enthusiastic to help the wider school too.
- Use your initiative to adapt activities to meet the pupils needs.
