Here at Long–Term Teachers, we have a number of SEN Teaching Assistant positions available around the North Somerset area, due to high demand for SEND support.

You will be working in a Primary School supporting children on a 1to1 or on a small group basis throughout KS1 and KS2 classrooms. Depending on your flexibility, these positions can be full-time or part-time.

The Role

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or have experience and knowledge of SEN. You will need to be confident in adapting and delivering group and individual work, and assessing their development to communicate clearly with the class teacher.

You will be expected to:

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to develop activities.
  • Be enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible in a wonderful lively environment.
  • Show sensitivity, compassion and empathy when working and caring for children.
  • Be motivated and interested in encouraging and participating in children’s play.
  • Create a safe learning environment.
  • Manage and support with the child’s needs.
  • Be adaptable with the learning opportunities.
