Here at Long-Term Teachers, we are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant who has knowledge or a desire to work closely with children with a background of Trauma or SEMH needs.

I am working with a lovely 2 form entry Primary School in the South Bristol area who are currently seeking candidates to work 1 to 1 with pupils and work with small intervention groups.

Their staff members strive to ensure excellence in the teaching and all areas of the curriculum to support children of all abilities. They thrive to provide an inclusive learning environment for their children to promote high ambition and self belief.

The Role

There is a Teaching Assistant position available here to start as soon as possible for the whole academic year.

You will be expected to deliver intervention workshops with small groups of children. You may at times need to support children with SEN needs following their EHCPs, communicating clearly with the Class Teacher about their specific needs with different subjects.

The Head Teacher is ideally looking for a candidate who has experience working closely with children, someone who has the desire to support children with their educational development

You will be expected to:

  • Strong positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher
  • Be flexible and encouraging when working with this pupil.
  • Be adaptable with the child’s learning environment.
  • Communicate and observe personal and learning development.
  • Work closely with the SENDCo to gain the best knowledge of how to support the pupil.
