Here at Long-Term Teachers we are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support with Maths, Literacy and Reading interventions throughout a Year 5 and Year 6 class in a Primary School in the BS35 area of South Gloucestershire. This school provides a safe environment for pupils to explore their learning and challenge themselves to become the best version of themselves.

The Role

You will be joining the school on a full-time basis ASAP until the end of the academic year. The Head Teacher is looking for someone who has prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a Primary setting, someone who has great knowledge of the KS2 curriculum, mainly the core subjects. You will be supporting children on a 1 to 1 and small group basis, supporting and challenging their learning. You will be expected to:

  • Hold high expectations for children's development.
  • Have great experience of positive behaviour management.
  • Communicate clearly with the Class Teacher when assessing children’s development.
  • Create a positive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively to support interventions.
  • Use your initiative to differentiate activities to support each pupil's abilities.
