We\βre working closely with a number of special schools in the Melksham area that have various roles available from September.
These schools are a mixture of SEMH & more complex needs schools looking after students aged 4-16. The schools ideally require staff who are available on a full-time basis, so this would be ideally 5 days a week on a long-term basis (but with short days!).
The role
The role of LSW involves general classroom support as well as 1-1 support while working closely with colleagues in providing support outside of the classroom. Due to the needs of the students (SEMH, ASD, Complex Needs, SLD, MLD ) it is essential that you have worked with special needs in some capacity.
Working in these schools is incredibly rewarding . You have a chance to make a real difference in these children\βs lives but it\βs not always easy! You must be resilient, patient, adaptable, enthusiastic and confident in managing challenging behaviour .
