A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the SN14 area of Swindon is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Reception Teacher to cover a maternity leave starting January 2026. This full-time role is ideal for a passionate and experienced Early Years teacher who is ready to provide a warm, supportive, and stimulating learning environment for Reception pupils. The school offers a friendly, team-oriented atmosphere and is committed to delivering high-quality early years education.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons following the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Support all areas of children’s development, particularly in communication, literacy, and numeracy
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, maintaining clear and accurate records
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Promote positive behaviour and uphold the school’s values and expectations
- Support smooth transitions into Reception and prepare pupils for progression into Year 1
- Collaborate with the Early Years team and contribute to wider school life
- Follow all safeguarding, health & safety, and child protection policies and procedures
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Recent and relevant experience teaching in EYFS, ideally within a Reception class
- Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development
- Confident and caring classroom management
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A flexible, proactive, and positive attitude
- Commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of all pupils
