Job Description

SEND Learning Support Assistants

  • Special schools
  • Full-time & part-time roles
  • Range of special needs (SLD, MLD, PMLD, ASD, SEMH, Complex Needs)
  • Ages 4-19

We work on behalf of a couple of special schools in the Salisbury area that are looking for SEND Learning Support Assistants to join them ideally for as soon as possible. One of these schools looks after students with more physical needs (SLD etc) & the other school is more focused around Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH).

Both schools are very well respected in the local area, providing an essential service to these children and their families.

The role

The role of LSA revolves heavily around providing general classroom support as well as 1-1 support to these students inside and outside of the classroom. You should be proactive, patient, enthusiastic and have a real desire to make an impact in these students lives.

If working in the SEMH environment, you must feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour and have a naturally calm demeanour. In the more physical needs school, it is important that you have had experience working in a SEN environment before. The schools are open to applications from full-time or part-time members of staff.
