A Primary School in the BS23 area of Weston Super Mare is currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive EYFS team. As part of a large Trust, the school provides high quality education for primary aged children, supporting families and the community around them.

The Role

You will be joining a 2 form entry Primary School who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their reception class to work with the Class Teacher to support small group activities and sometimes work closely with SEN children.

You will be expected to communicate continuously with the Class Teacher to develop activities to meet the needs of all pupils across the class, identifying any challenges or additional support that some may require.

You will be expected to:

  • Have experience working with children – ideally within an Early Years environment.

  • Have experience supporting and leading small groups and individuals.

  • Be flexible and use your own initiative when supporting children.

  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher and other EYFS staff.

  • Assess the child’s development and adapt activities to challenge the pupil.
