Long Term Teachers are looking for a Cover Manager to support a school in the Bath area. We are looking for an individual who is organised and reliable. Ideally , the role would suit someone with teaching experience also, to understand the processes within the school as well as to be available for cover duties.

As cover manager , you will be responsible for organizing and managing staff absences to ensure minimal disruption to student learning. This may include both short-term and long- term cover. using both in-house cover supervisors and external supply staff. Effective communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to problem – solve are key attributes for successful cover manager

Responsibilities :

  • Coordinating daily cover arrangements for planned and unplanned absences.
  • Communicating absences to relevant staff (Heads of Department, line managers, etc.).
  • Ensuring cover work is provided by teaching staff or cover supervisors.
  • Managing the workload of in-house cover supervisors.
  • Maintaining records of staff absences and cover undertaken.
  • Preparing and distributing cover sheets and related information.
  • Managing room changes and ensuring proper communication.
