A school in Wells is looking for a DT teacher until the end of the academic year starting immediately, pay rate is £140 - £170 per day.

We're looking for someone with a passion for design and technology, someone who is eager to inspire the next generation of makers in a hands-on environment. We want a teacher who is committed to delivering a high-quality careers education that supports all students in making informed choices about their futures. Any applicant will be required to have a full QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

Roles and responsibilities

  • Designing and delivering lessons that are practical , theory-rich and aligned with the national curriculum, preparing students for exams as well as managing a safe and fully resourced workshop environment.
  • Provide assessment and evaluation, keeping clear records of achievement and discuss difficulties with students and parents to ensure that all students are supported and progressing in their learning.
  • You will be responsible for safeguarding students and provide support to students who may require additional help or guidance.
  • Responsible for the induction, supervision and direction of other adults and colleagues working in the classroom, providing appropriate leadership and guidance regarding their role.
