We work closely with a fantastic special school in the Truro area that is looking for new Teaching Assistants to join the school. The school is based in a fantastic location and boasts a very high staff retention rate. The school looks after a very wide range of special needs and disabilities, which often involve complex needs, so experience in this area is essential.
The role will mostly involve providing general classroom support as well as 1-1 support where required. The classroom teachers look to their Teaching Assistants for any additional support, consistency, and proactiveness - proactiveness is the most important trait they require in a special school.
In addition, someone who has a special interest in food, nutrition, and gardening is desirable.
