Experience with SEMH needs is required. Full-Time opportunity. A wonderful Primary School in the BS13 area of South Bristol is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can support in a KS2 class. This school is a 2 form entry school, where the team of staff are very supportive to each other enabling the school to provide the pupils with an inclusive curriculum and a chance to gain learning experiences inside and outside of the classroom.

The Role

As a successful candidate, you will be working on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only). You will be supporting Year 5 and Year 6, working with groups of children, supporting their understanding of lessons inside and outside of the classroom. You will also be working with the Class Teacher to plan and deliver 1 to 1 and group intervention sessions, supporting children with their reading, phonics, Maths and English.

You will be expected to:

  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher to assess childrens’ development.
  • Have a good knowledge of Maths, English and other subjects.
  • Support with small group interventions.
  • Opportunity to work 1:1 with SEND children.
  • Opportunity to provide general support throughout the classroom with all pupils.
  • Support with emotional and social development.
