A Primary School in the Taunton area is currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to work within a KS2 Classroom from September. This 2 form entry school is very passionate about the curriculum they have developed and designed to meet the needs of their children, providing an inclusive environment for their learning.

The Role

This role is to start from September on a full-time basis. You will be expected to work closely with the Class Teacher and team around you to work with children in groups and on a 1:1 basis to support development and understanding of core subjects and interventions. Working with Year 6, they will be preparing for their SATs, so an understanding of the curriculum is required to deliver interventions with children who may be working a little lower than expected.

You will be expected to:

  • Communicate clearly with the Class Teacher on pupil’s development
  • Support children with additional needs
  • Provide a safe and engaging environment
  • Be patient, confident and creative with activities
  • Develop an understanding of children’s social, play and educational needs
