What we are looking for: We are looking for a confident character who believes that they are capable of delivering excellent pre-planned lessons to a variety of age groups. You might be an experienced TA or HLTA that feels ready for a step up and is comfortable with behaviour management and engaging children. You may be an aspiring teacher who has had experience working with children currently and wants a chance to develop and learn; there is no better way than a cover supervisor to gain this invaluable experience. If you are a resilient and confident individual then this is the role for you. It is essential that you have some previous experience working with children, whether that be tutoring, coaching or TAing in schools.
The role: The role will entail you supervising pupils and carrying out pre-prepared lessons when teaching staff are in short-term absence. You need to have good communication skills, be highly flexible and enjoy working with children. It is essential that prospective candidates applying are confident in presenting to a large number of people. Class sizes range from 20 to 35 students, so having a confident demeanour and being able to deliver lessons and ensure students are engaged in their learning is important.
