Are you a passionate and experienced teacher with a flair for leadership and a heart for inclusive education? Long-term Teachers is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a vibrant and supportive primary school in Somerset for a Resource Base Leader to head up two specialist KS1 and KS2 bases. The Resource Bases are specialist provisions for pupils with EHCPs, capped at 10 children per base. You'll lead a dedicated team, shape tailored learning, and work closely with school leaders and external professionals to ensure each child thrives.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and manage a team across both bases, supporting up to 20 children.
- Deliver an engaging, personalised curriculum that meets individual EHCP targets.
- Model outstanding teaching and behaviour strategies.
- Drive high-quality provision and continuous development across the team.
- Collaborate with the SENCO, Heads of School, and external agencies to ensure every pupil’s success.
- Play an integral role in transition planning and placement consultations.
- Support integration with the main school, when appropriate.
As a class teacher, you’ll:
- Create a trauma-informed, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Deliver high-quality teaching for pupils with diverse SEND needs.
- Communicate effectively with families and professionals.
- Reflect, adapt, and grow your own practice as part of a dynamic team.
