A fantastic special school based in the Radstock area supports students aged 4-16. They are looking for a couple of Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join the team from September, ideally on a full-time basis, supporting across a range of different special needs and disabilities. The needs of the students are often complex, including physical disabilities, so experience in this area is crucial.

The role is varied but will mostly involve providing general classroom support as well as some 1-1 support for students who most require assistance. The role will also heavily revolve around supporting the class teacher with whatever they need. Providing the students with a happy environment is the most important thing; they want their students to really enjoy coming to school!

You will be expected to:

  • Be adaptable and flexible around the needs of the pupils.
  • Have experience of working with special needs and disabilities.
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Support the class teacher as well as other members of staff.
  • Be enthusiastic, positive and proactive.
