We work closely with a special school in the Newbury area that is looking for someone to join the kitchen team as one of their chefs. The successful candidate would be responsible for the planning and preparation of quality food and catering service to the school.
The role:
- To plan menus for the school with reference to the dietary needs of our young people.
- To undertake the monitoring of stocks by date rotation, portion control and quality in accordance with the budgetary controls set.
- To set up and clean down the kitchen areas before and after day-to-day use.
- To ensure that necessary preparation is undertaken for the day/weekly demand/needs of the school.
- To be observant of the need to minimise waste.
This role is appealing to anyone looking for slightly reduced hours! In terms of experience, you do not have to have years of experience behind you necessarily but confidence in the kitchen and ideally a similar role would be preferable. Possessing your Food & Hygiene qualification is essential.
