The predicted salary is between 11.7 - 14.3 £ per hour.

A school in the BS23 area of Weston-Super-Mare is looking for a Learning Support Assistant who can work with an SEND child in their KS1 class on a 1 to 1 basis. You will be joining an experienced and dynamic team of teachers and teaching assistants. This 2 form entry school has a curriculum developed to support pupils’ curiosity and prepare them academically and personally for life.

The Role

As a successful candidate, you will be expected to work on a part-time basis, mornings only; 8:30 to 12:15. As you will be working closely with 1 child who has ASD needs, the Head Teacher is looking for someone who has experience working with SEND children, someone who can demonstrate patience and has caring and nurturing characteristics.

You will be expected to:

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to develop activities.
  • Communicate well with the school SENDCo to gain a better understanding of the child’s needs.
  • Have high expectations for the individual to succeed.
  • Create a stimulating and purposeful environment.
  • Manage and support with the child’s needs.
  • Assess and communicate the individual’s successes and developments.
