SEN English Teacher

Full Time Permanent - January start

Based in Hayle

£22,560 - £31,600 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

Are you looking for an exciting role within a specialist school for a permanent placement that will commence in January? This independent school first opened back in 2009 and had achieved a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating in 2020. They offer a holistic approach to learning, focusing on the students' social and emotional development; it is incredibly important you are adaptable to work with the teaching styles of the school.

To be successful with your application, you must have QTS/QTLS/PGCE, which is preferable, but consideration will be given to education professionals with other teaching qualifications. You must have experience of teaching English. In addition, it is essential that you have experience of working with young people in an SEN environment and that you are passionate about the social and emotional wellbeing of children.

You will be planning and delivering lessons that are specialised to suit the needs of the school, which include MLD and Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs. There will be many opportunities to work with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver a sequenced curriculum that builds knowledge and skills towards agreed end points. It is essential that you effectively monitor the progress of each pupil, checking their understanding systematically and effectively, putting in place clearly directed and timely interventions.

This will be a full-time position, working Monday to Friday 8:30 - 3:30, term time only. This is a permanent placement beginning in January; however, if available, there will be an opportunity for you to attend a trial week.

The headteacher is looking for an experienced, kind individual who can work well with the needs of the school and bring enthusiasm and dedication to the role.
