To be considered for this role, you must have excellent experience working with children with special needs, in addition to having relevant qualifications. The amazing teaching staff at this school work as a team in challenging situations; sometimes interventions will occur. You must be able to handle situations calmly, bringing a positive, patient attitude to the environment. Your predominant duties will include offering classroom support on a 1:1 basis. You will be mentoring students from key stage 3 through to key stage 4. As previously mentioned, the needs are predominantly SEMH, and students also haven’t worked well in mainstream, so aren’t academically achieving. Your role will involve offering classroom support to both students and teachers.

You will not be expected to plan or mark, but offering creative enthusiasm to lessons is vital! Morning briefings will take place to plan the day as a team; it is a great opportunity to speak to senior staff members regarding students' progress. Hours of work will be 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. This will be an immediate start; however, we are open to discussing a postponed start.
