We're working on behalf of a brilliant special school that is looking for a SEND KS1 Teaching Assistant to join the team from the summer term ideally on a long-term basis. The school looks after a wide range of special needs and disabilities, which will often be complex needs. The school is a truly unique environment that is incredibly proud of the work they do there, providing a valuable service to families in the area.
The role of TA mostly involves providing general classroom support as well as 1-1 support. This position is within a lovely KS1 class of 6 students where you will be working alongside 3 other TAs. The class is reportedly a really wonderful class to be a part of; the full-time TAs and class teacher have all been there since the start of the year, so they know the students well. Due to the needs of the students, it is imperative that you have some form of experience working with SEND, whether this be in a school setting or in support work. What's most important to them is having the right people working at the school; they need people who are patient, positive, enthusiastic, proactive, and hard-working.
