Leading pre-planned lessons and supporting wherever necessary. I work on behalf of a number of special schools in the Frome area that require support throughout the academic year. These schools cater to students aged 4-19 with a range of special needs including ASD, ADHD, SLD, SEMH, MLD, PMLD & Complex Needs.
The role of HLTA is incredibly mixed. You are essentially the school's all-rounder; providing support by leading pre-planned lessons where teachers are unavailable, providing TA support, 1-1 support & pastoral care. There is the opportunity to work either ad hoc or on a full-time/long-term basis. You must have experience working with special needs & disabilities. Ideally, you would have worked in a special school environment before.
