We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with complex needs in a welcoming primary school in Evesham.

About the Role

This is a long-term position working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support for a child with complex needs, which may include communication difficulties, sensory processing differences, medical needs, and social, emotional and behavioural challenges.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting learning and development through personalised strategies.
  • Implementing structured routines to provide consistency and reassurance.
  • Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour management.
  • Providing support with communication, interaction, and sensory needs.
  • Liaising with external professionals (where required) to follow support plans.
  • Ensuring a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment at all times.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for individuals with proven experience supporting children with complex SEND/SEMH needs, ideally in a school or care-based setting. The right candidate will bring patience, resilience, and creativity to the role.

Essential qualities include:

  • Experience working with children with complex needs (communication, sensory, medical, or behavioural).
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach.
  • A nurturing and empathetic mindset, with a passion for inclusive education.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to individual needs.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals.
  • Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude.
