I'm working on behalf of a fantastic special school in Wiltshire that is looking for an SEN English teacher to join the team from September in leading KS3 classes. The school have gone through exciting developments recently so there has been no better time to join them! The school look after a range of special needs & disabilities but are primarily focused around ASD, ADHD & SEMH. Having placed a number of candidates with this school over the years, I can confidently say how rewarding candidates find the work at this school and how well supported they feel by other staff members.
The role will be leading English classes for KS3 students. Ideally, the successful applicant would feel comfortable planning & marking English lessons to a KS3 level but the school are open to applications from teachers wishing to simply lead pre-planned lessons. This role is initially from September-December but if the applicant were to be a good fit and wished to stay on long-term, then that is certainly possible. Due to the needs of the students, it is essential that you feel confident working with ASD especially. QTS is also preferred but the school are open to applications from a strong unqualified teacher (special school experience). This is a great opportunity as this role can be either short term or long-term - up to the candidate.
