A SEND Teaching Assistant is required for a special school catering to ASD, SLD, Complex Needs, PMLD, MLD & SEMH students. This is a full-time, long-term position from 8:30am to 3:15pm, with a ‘floating’ role that involves supporting across different classes. An immediate start is available.
This lovely special school looks after a wide range of special needs and disabilities for students aged 4-19. The work is incredibly rewarding but also fairly challenging, requiring individuals who are confident in dealing with challenging behaviour. You will be supported by staff throughout the school.
The Role: This interesting role requires flexibility as you will provide cover across the school in different classes. You will be expected to provide general classroom support as well as 1-1 support to specific students. Key expectations include:
- Experience working with special needs and disabilities (preferably within a school setting)
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Providing support inside and outside of the classroom
