We're working on behalf of a brilliant special school in Cheltenham that looks after students (4-19) with a wide range of special needs & disabilities. The needs of the children are in the areas of communication & interaction, cognition & learning, sensory & physical needs. The role of TA will be supporting a range of different classes so flexibility is a key requirement. Having worked closely with this school now for the last few years, the feedback we have from candidates has always been positive. It's challenging work as you will often be working with some very complex needs but the support you receive from other staff members is fantastic. The school are open to applications from support workers with extensive experience working with a range of special needs & disabilities.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year's experience working with special needs & disabilities is essential
- Special school experience preferred
- Full-time availability (preferably long-term)
- Flexibility, reliability, positivity, patience, confidence
- Confident in dealing with challenging behaviour
