A 2 form entry Primary School in the BS31 area of Bristol is currently looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This school is part of a large Trust that strives to provide equal opportunities for employers to develop and expand their knowledge and skill set.
The Role
As a member of the support staff at this Primary School, you will be expected to work closely with the school SENDCo, understanding the individual pupils’ needs and building a strong relationship with the pupil and their families. The Head Teacher is looking to appoint a flexible and dedicated professional with classroom experience. Someone who has prior knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and can use their initiative to adapt lessons to meet the pupils' needs.
You will be expected to:
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher to assess development.
- Have high expectations for the individual to succeed.
- Have previous experience or understanding of ASD needs.
- Create a stimulating and purposeful environment.
- Be patient, caring and creative.
- Be flexible and adapt activities based on the pupils' needs and emotional feelings.
- Assess and communicate the individuals’ successes and developments.
