Here at Long-Term Teachers, we are working closely with a Primary School in the BS6 area of Bristol. They are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis with 2 pupils in their KS1 class. This school is a vibrant and creative school with an excellent reputation as a caring and successful school, where they strive for each of their children to be the best that they can be. With a local school closing this summer, they have a number of new students joining the school and with a great community feel around the school, they are really welcoming to these families.

The Role

This role is a full-time position, where the successful candidate will be expected to work as a 1 to 1 SEN Teaching Assistant. You will be supporting the speech and language development of 2 children in the year 2 class. You will work in collaboration with the SENCO and Class Teacher to understand the pupils’ needs and how to meet their needs through adapting lessons and environments.

You will be expected to:

  • Be adaptable and flexible around the needs of the pupil.
  • Have good knowledge of the educational curriculum.
  • Communicate clearly with Class Teachers about the pupils’ progress.
  • Be flexible, creative and adaptable.
  • Have high expectations of pupils through motivation, encouragement and confidence.
