We are working on behalf of a fantastic special school in Bristol that is looking for an SEMH HLTA/Cover Supervisor to join the team in providing support across the school. The school looks after a range of different special needs but is primarily focused around Social Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH). The school is split into 2 sites (Primary & Secondary) based very close to each other. It is a challenging environment due to the needs of the students, but it is also an incredibly rewarding one!

The role of HLTA is varied but mainly revolves around providing cover across the school in leading pre-planned lessons. You must be confident in your classroom management and be naturally a very adaptable person due to the amount of different classes/subjects you will be leading. There will be occasional pastoral/TA support you will also provide, but this is minimal. This role can be applicable to an experienced TA looking for a step up in responsibilities or an unqualified teacher. You must be flexible, confident in dealing with challenging behaviour, enjoy working as part of a team, and have good experience working with SEN/SEMH.
