This vibrant school in central Bristol is looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant specialising in ASD and ADHD support. The role will start as soon as possible. The school has a wide range of students, it is a very diverse environment welcoming pupils from a range of cultures and backgrounds, and takes a lot of pride in helping all students who need extra support meet the high expectations.

This school is well established in the local community and it has a long-standing reputation for the hard work and devotion teaching staff offer their pupils. Situated in North Bristol, this school has fantastic public transport links with 2 train stations and a range of buses in close proximity.

You will be working 1 to 1 in the classroom with pupils who face struggles retaining their attention and focus that come with ASD and ADHD. The aim is that students learn to manage their emotions and find strategies to overcome difficulties. We need an emotionally intelligent, compassionate teaching assistant to guide pupils through lessons and help keep them motivated and engaged by being able to convey a strong sense of authority and organisation whilst also maintaining a compassionate approach.

These students will require ongoing guidance, support and patience. This is a challenging role as difficulties will occur, yet it is one of the most rewarding as you will get to build strong bonds with pupils and help improve their life skills and increase their ambition. The staff back each other and keep things consistent in the tough times, always including everyone in the positive community the school has built.
