I'm working with a brilliant special school based in Bristol that are looking for a teacher to join the team from the summer term in leading a KS1 class. The school looks after students with a range of special needs but the class in question looks after students with SEMH & ASD. The school has fantastic facilities that provide exceptional pastoral support to their students. They put a major focus on making sure the students are as independent as they can be.
The position that has become available is within a KS1 class of 8 SEMH students where you will be ably supported by 2 permanent TA's. You will be expected to plan your own lessons (primary model) as well as mark the lessons (adequate PPA time will be provided). Experience wise, it is essential that you have worked with SEMH/SEN students before and preferably you would hold a QTS. You must be confident in dealing with challenging behaviour.
