Here at Long-Term Teachers, we are seeking 2 Teaching Assistants who have experience or the desire to work closely with SEN children. I am working with a lovely 2 form entry Primary School in the North Bristol area who are currently seeking candidates to work 1 to 1 with pupils and work with small intervention groups. Their staff members strive to ensure excellence in the teaching and all areas of the curriculum to support children of all abilities. They thrive to provide an inclusive learning environment for their children to promote high ambition and self-belief.

The Role

There are 2 Teaching Assistant positions available here to start as soon as possible for the whole academic year. You will be expected to deliver intervention workshops with small groups of children. You may at times need to support children with SEN needs following their EHCPs, communicating clearly with the Class Teacher about their specific needs with different subjects.

The Head Teacher is ideally looking for a candidate who has experience working closely with children, someone who has the desire to support children with their educational development. You will be expected to:

  • Strong positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher.
  • Be flexible and encouraging when working with this pupil.
  • Be adaptable with the child’s learning environment.
  • Communicate and observe personal and learning development.
  • Work closely with the SENDCo to gain the best knowledge of how to support the pupil.
