Long-term Teachers are working with a fantastic Special Primary School in West Bristol that are on the lookout for a KS1 teacher to join the school on a full-time basis from September.

The school look after students with a range of needs but are primarily focused around Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs.

The school are situated on beautiful grounds on the outskirts of Bristol.

The school are incredibly proud of the important work they do for the children in the school in preparing them for life in secondary school and beyond.

Position Details

  • Role: KS1 Class Teacher
  • Start Date: September
  • Location: BS10, Bristol
  • Contract: Full-time, Permanent
  • Salary: M1- UPS1

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the curriculum
  • Create a nurturing and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning for SEMH children.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing feedback to support development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders to promote student welfare and achievement.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and events.
  • Lead a class of 8 students with the support of 2 of Teaching Assistants.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with SEMH children, preferably within a UK setting.
  • Solid understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies with SEN children.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for SEN education and a commitment to continuous professional development.
