Behavioural Teaching Assistant SEMH Support Bristol Full-Time / Long-Term ASAP Start

Are you someone with experience working with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs? I am working with Primary Schools around the Bristol area who are looking for a Teaching Assistant who can support on a 1 to 1 basis with a pupil who displays high levels of SEMH needs. You will have the opportunity to develop your own skills and knowledge through working closely with other professionals including the school SENCO to really understand how to adapt, engage and support a young child.

The Role

This position is starting as soon as possible, where you will be working full-time, Monday to Friday, Term time only. This school is looking for someone who is flexible, approachable and calm. Someone who can use their initiative to adapt environments and encourage children with their individual needs.

You will be expected to:

  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher to assess children's development.
  • Have a good knowledge of Maths, English and other subjects.
  • Assist with tailored learning activities and interventions.
  • Support emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies.
  • Take part in off-site and community-based learning activities.
  • Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils.
