Are you an experienced science teacher, with an extensive career teaching in a secondary school, looking for a brand new role for September with a fantastic team! The school is an all-through (age 4 to 16) co-educational school offering a fresh approach and choice that allows pupils to discover learning, unlock their potential, find their place in their community and play their part in society. It offers a genuine alternative education and allows greater choice to the local communities of Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole.
The headteacher is looking for a teacher who can offer a positive, safe learning environment for its community, in which everyone has equal and individual recognition and respect. The school celebrates success and is committed to the continuous improvement and fulfilment of potential in every student regardless of their ability. Having strong behaviour management skills is essential in addition to having a respectful, understanding approach to teaching.
You will be planning science lessons around Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum, and must be able to confidently lead lessons ensuring they are interactive and suitable for students' individual learning needs. Ideally you will have a physics and chemistry specialism, but we will be open to hear from you if you are incredibly experienced leading general science to secondary level.
Prior to your application, you must have a UK QTS, along with extensive training within specialist education. It is paramount you have strong knowledge of safeguarding and an understanding of current guidelines. This will be a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, term time only; this will be a permanent placement if you demonstrate to be an excellent addition to the team.
