Special School Year 5 Class Full teaching responsibilities (Planning & Marking) SEMH & ASD students Full-Time / Long-Term Bath Immediate start.

The school looks after students with a range of special needs but is primarily focused on students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH) & ASD. The school is well established and going through exciting changes, looking for a teacher to lead a class of Year 5 students. The team is supportive and wants you to succeed!

The Role

This role will be leading a Year 5 class where you will be supported by 2 TAs. You will have full teaching responsibilities, expected to plan and mark your own lessons with adequate time provided for PPA (no students are in on Friday afternoons). Due to the needs of the students, it is essential you have worked with SEMH or ASD students before as they will require someone confident in dealing with challenging behaviour. They are open to a range of applications, so whether you're an ECT, experienced mainstream teacher, or simply a SEN teacher looking for a change - please apply now!

  • Have confidence in leading your TAs and help develop their skillsets
  • Plan & mark your own lessons
  • Deescalate challenging situations
  • Get involved in all aspects of school life
