Here at Long-Term Teachers, I am working with a range of mainstream Primary Schools in the Weston-Super-Mare area. We are currently looking for candidates who want to work as an SEND Teaching Assistant in their local schools. We have multiple SEND Learning Support Assistant roles for someone with previous experience working with special needs. These positions are full-time or part-time opportunities, working around your availability.

The Role

We offer flexible and well-paid work opportunities in wonderful Primary Schools. Ideal SEND Teaching Assistants will be someone who is interested in supporting children with additional needs and has a calm but nurturing personality, adapting environments to meet the children's needs.

Long-Term Teachers are looking for candidates with prior experience or knowledge of working with children. You could be supporting children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, Speech and Language and Physical needs.

You will be expected to:

  • Enable pupils with SEN to become independent learners.
  • Encourage the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school.
  • Assist with the student's behaviour management and social-emotional development.
  • Follow the schools’ behaviour and safeguarding policies.
  • Support the Class Teachers with any adapting lessons to allow the children to access their learning.
