We are working closely with a fantastic special school based in Cheltenham that is looking for a full-time TA to join the team after the Easter break. The school looks after students with a variety of different needs but focuses around SEMH. Having placed a number of permanent staff at the school over the years, the consistent feedback I have from candidates is that working at this school is incredibly rewarding if not challenging at times!
The role of TA at this setting involves providing general classroom support as well as a lot of 1:1 support. The school is a fast-paced environment so you must be prepared for this and have good experience working with special needs. You must be adaptable, patient, positive, calm and confident in dealing with challenging behaviour. Experience working with Early Years/Primary aged students is preferred but they are open to a range of applications.
