Long-term Teachers are working with a fantastic secondary special school in Bristol seeking 3 Teaching Assistants to join their enthusiastic team in September on a full-time basis. The right candidate should want to inspire young minds and make a real difference in their education. This school is an essential part of the community and plays a pivotal role in these students' futures. Located across 2 sites in Bristol, the secondary school is committed to providing support to students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs (SEMH) among other special needs & disabilities.

Position Details:

  • Role: Teaching Assistant (ages 11-16)
  • Start Date: September
  • Location: BS10, Bristol
  • Contract: Full-time, Long-term/Permanent (either September or immediate start)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing general emotional support to students across the school
  • Assisting class teachers with lesson planning and overall classroom management
  • Providing 1-1 support for students with SEMH & ASD
  • Being proactive in your support of the students

Requirements:

  • Experience working with secondary-aged children, preferably within a UK setting.
  • Being strong/confident in dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for mental health within education
  • Team Teach training preferred
