Long-term Teachers are working with a fantastic secondary special school in Bristol seeking 3 Teaching Assistants to join their enthusiastic team in September on a full-time basis. The right candidate should want to inspire young minds and make a real difference in their education. Located across 2 sites in Bristol, the secondary school is committed to providing support to students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs (SEMH) among other special needs & disabilities.
Position Details:
- Role: Teaching Assistant (ages 11-16)
- Start Date: September
- Location: BS10, Bristol
- Contract: Full-time, Long-term/Permanent (either September or immediate start)
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing general emotional support to students across the school
- Assisting class teachers with lesson planning and overall classroom management
- Providing 1-1 support for students with SEMH & ASD
- Being proactive in your support of the students
Requirements:
- Experience working with secondary-aged children, preferably within a UK setting.
- Being strong/confident in dealing with challenging behaviour
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for mental health within education
- Team Teach training preferred
