Long Term Futures are working with a welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Oldbury to recruit a KS1 Teacher for September 2026. The school is seeking a committed practitioner to take on a Key Stage 1 class, with a strong focus on early literacy, phonics development, and building solid foundations for future learning. This role is well suited to both experienced KS1 teachers and ECTs looking to develop within a supportive and structured environment. The school places a strong emphasis on consistency in teaching, high expectations, and nurturing pupils' confidence and independence from an early stage. You will be joining a collaborative staff team and a forward-thinking leadership group, all dedicated to maintaining high standards, supporting staff development, and ensuring positive outcomes for pupils across Key Stage 1.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum
- Differentiating learning to meet a range of abilities, including SEN and EAL pupils
- Use formative and summative assessment to track progress and inform planning
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning in line with school policy
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and carers
- Work closely with teaching assistants to maximise classroom support
- Contribute to phonics delivery and early reading development
- Prepare pupils for end of KS1 assessments
- Take part in staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives
- Support extracurricular activities and wider school life
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven KS1 teaching experience (ECTs considered with strong placements)
- Strong understanding of phonics and early literacy development
- Confident behaviour management and organisational skills
