Long Term Futures is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the West Bridgford area from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting children across the primary age range and is committed to helping every pupil reach their full potential. Whether you're supporting pupils individually, leading small group interventions or assisting with whole-class activities, your contribution will have a lasting impact on children's confidence, progress and enjoyment of school.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide classroom support across the primary phase, adapting to the needs of different year groups where required
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to support literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum learning
- Encourage pupil engagement, independence and confidence within the classroom
- Support children with a range of learning needs, including those with SEND where appropriate
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm, inclusive learning environment
- Prepare classroom resources and assist with the organisation of learning activities
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents to support children's overall development
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Previous experience working within a primary school as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive, patient and adaptable approach to supporting children's learning
- Confident working with small groups and providing individual support
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND is advantageous
- Committed to becoming a valued member of the wider school community
