Responsibilities
- Lead the numeracy strategy across the school, overseeing all Maths accreditation including Functional Skills and Entry Level.
- Coach and mentor colleagues to foster a high-standard, collaborative learning environment.
- Deliver tailored, person-centred lessons to students with autism, learning disabilities, and complex SEND requirements.
- Adapt the curriculum to ensure students make exceptional progress from their starting points, focusing on practical life skills.
- Support student regulation and work closely with families and specialist teams to meet EHCP outcomes.
- Manage and adapt to the changing needs of the classroom while remaining calm and resilient under pressure.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and significant experience specialising in SEND within a specialist setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths with experience teaching Functional Skills and Entry Level learners.
- Recent SEND-focused CPD and a deep understanding of sensory and communication needs.
