Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant | High Peak (SK23) | £105-£120 per day | Full Time | Must have a Driving Licence | Start Date: 4/9/26

We are looking for our next Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant in a Primary and Secondary Alternative Provision setting. Informal Microsoft Teams meetings are being held now for suitable candidates. Do you have the resilience to support young people with additional needs to re-engage with education? You will provide targeted academic and emotional support, working closely with teaching staff and external professionals to help every learner reach their full potential. You must be able to drive, and the role is in the High peak (SK23).

About the Role:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs. This is across Primary and secondary settings.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
  • Support pupils’ academic progress as well as their emotional wellbeing and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver personalised learning plans.
  • Contribute to behaviour management and therapeutic support strategies.

About you:

  • Experience in supporting pupils with additional needs in a school or youth work setting.
  • You must have a full driving licence and be willing to obtain business insurance.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build trust with students.
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to challenges.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people succeed academically and personally.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school community.
